We’re excited to announce our partnership with EducAid, a charity focused on enhancing education for undeserved children in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world. By refurbishing and repurposing used IT equipment, we are helping to provide much-needed technology to schools across the country, where access to such resources is limited.
Transforming IT Waste into Educational Opportunities
At Asset Disposal, we are committed to sustainability. By repurposing redundant IT equipment, we are not only reducing electronic waste, but we are also able to benefit undeserved communities in Sierra Leone. Our partnership with EducAid ensures that functional computers and other IT assets reach schools where access to technology is limited.
EducAid’s Amazing work in Sierra Leone
EducAid has been dedicated to improving education in Sierra Leone for 30 years now. They run schools, train teachers and work on gender equality and improving community resilience in Sierra Leone. With the help of companies such as ours, EducAid is able to improve digital access with increased computers and other tech resources, improving the learning experience and educational opportunities for students.
A Personal Mission
For our CEO Ben, this initiative is deeply personal. Having served as a soldier in Sierra Leone during the country’s civil war, he has never forgotten the resilience and spirit of the people there—especially the children. Seeing first-hand the challenges present for so many in Sierra Leone, Ben was inspired to act. Working with EducAid lets him do just that, by supporting a cause that helps these communities get access to quality education and better opportunities.
Making a Real Difference
So far, we have sent over sixty computers and monitors to schools in Freetown, helping set up three IT suites. And we are committed to continuing this support, replacing equipment as needed and helping with any tech issues that arise. This allows EducAid to focus on what they do best—educating students and giving them the skills they need to build a better future.
“Our goal,” says Ben, “is to empower students in Sierra Leone with the tools they need to learn and thrive, making a real difference to their lives.”
