Asset Disposal is proud to announce they will be giving a helping hand to the Turing Foundation by providing free computer equipment which will benefit children’s education in Africa. In addition, Asset Disposals customers who are entitled to receive a rebate will now get the opportunity to donate a percentage to help support the Turing Foundation.
The Turing Foundation was founded in 2016 by Pieter and Françoise Geelen. The Foundation’s aim is to benefit four important causes, Art, Nature, Education, and Leprosy.
The Foundation is named in honour of Alan Turing (1912-1954), the British scientist who is regarded by many as the founder of modern computer science. Alan Turing’s ‘Turing Machine’ laid the foundations for the Complexity Theory; his ‘Turing Test’ is one of the philosophical cornerstones of Artificial Intelligence. Alan Turing helped the British Government decipher the Enigma Code during World War II, which was used by German submarines to key their information.
When it comes to nature, the Turing Foundation focuses on encouraging and seeking a respectful and sustainable relationship with it. Sustainability helps in preserving the environment for future generations. The foundation knows that nature will be direly affected if we don’t adopt sustainability now.
Regarding Art, the foundation supports live performances of classical music, expositions of the visual arts, and Dutch poetry. The Turing Foundation wants to give people access to enjoy poetry, music, and arts.
The Turing Foundation is also doing a lot in the field of leprosy and investing in scientific research to eliminate this disease. Lastly, The Turing Foundation strives to offer young people and children gain access to good quality education. The foundation believes that by providing quality education to students, we as a whole will be working for the betterment of their future. The Foundation also aims at increasing vocational training and teacher training.
Looking at the way the Turing Foundation is evolving and considering that its values will make this world a better place to live in.
When Asset Disposal heard about all the great things happening at the Turing Foundation, they wanted to get involved and help in any way possible.
If you would like to get on board and support such a good cause, take the opportunity to donate something to those who need your support.
